The petition states that the local economy has suffered serious damage due to the temporary closure of Bearstown, which has continued for three years following the lift accident in 2022. It calls on Eland Park to promptly clarify its position and disclose the reopening schedule.

Bearstown has suspended operations since the lift rollback accident that occurred in January 2022 and remains closed to this day.

In particular, the residents pointed out that Eland Park unilaterally decided on the closure and has not responded at all to requests for meetings from Pocheon City Hall and local residents. They appealed for Eland Park to agree to a meeting.

Regarding this matter, Pocheon City stated, "We will seek an early meeting with Eland Park Bearstown to confirm a clear position on the reopening plan," adding, "We will also prepare a variety of revitalization measures in parallel to help restore the local economy, which has stagnated due to Bearstown's prolonged closure."
