Considering Sending a Special Envoy

President Trump made these remarks in an interview with a CBS reporter aboard Air Force One while returning home from the Group of Seven (G7) summit held in Canada.

President Trump predicted that if Iran does not give up its nuclear ambitions, Israel would not ease its offensive posture. He stated, "We will find out within the next two days. So far, no one has slowed down."

He also addressed the possibility of sending Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff or Vice President JD Vance to Iran, saying, "That is possible," and added, "I will return to Washington, D.C. and assess the situation."

President Trump departed for home around midnight the previous day, citing the situation in the Middle East as the reason. It has been reported that he plans to convene a National Security Council (NSC) meeting in the Situation Room as soon as he returns to the White House.
