Into Science with the Family... Over 5,000 Gather for Gijang-gun's 'Family Science Experience Learning'

Science Festival Featuring Science Escape Room, Anchovy Dissection, and Astronomical Observation

Gijang-gun, Busan, announced that the 'Gijang Family Science Experience Learning' event, held at Gijang County Office on June 14, concluded with families enjoying science together.

Approximately 5,000 people participated in the event and visited the experience booths.

This event was designed as a science culture program for families to experience science, develop critical thinking skills, and strengthen family bonds. It took place from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the lobby and outdoor plaza of the Gijang County Office.

The event featured three main themes: 'Gijang Science Land Connecting the Past and Present,' 'Gijang Science Playground Opening the Future,' and 'Gijang Science Adventure Reaching into Space.' A variety of science experience contents were provided under these themes.

In particular, the science escape room experience, where participants solved missions using scientific principles, was especially popular. The 'Anchovy Dissection Experience,' which allowed children to dissect anchovies and observe their biological structures, also attracted attention as a hands-on biology class.

After sunset, participants enjoyed astronomical observation using telescopes, accompanied by expert commentary. Other diverse programs, such as drone basketball, AI artist experiences, and an Optimus robot show, stimulated children's scientific curiosity.

A parent who attended the event shared, "It was a day immersed in science, watching robots and operating telescopes with my child. I hope such family learning experience events are held more often."

County Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "This event was organized as a hands-on science festival for families to enjoy together," adding, "We will continue to expand the local base for science through a variety of science culture programs."

'Gijang Family Science Experience Learning' is organized annually by Gijang-gun in cooperation with local science institutions and has established itself as a representative science culture program in the region.
