Holds Three Times More Dust Than Previous Models
British home appliance company Dyson is introducing its new cordless vacuum cleaner, the 'DS60 Piston Animal', in Korea for the first time, following last month's launch of the 'Pencilback Fluffycon Vacuum Cleaner'.
On June 17, Dyson announced that it would unveil the cordless vacuum cleaner Piston Animal in Korea. This marks the first time in about 20 days since Dyson last introduced a new cordless vacuum cleaner in Korea with the Pencilback model. Asaf Ooi, Lead Product Development Engineer for the Cordless Vacuum Division, stated, "We are pleased to present the Piston Animal, a cleaning solution with powerful and outstanding performance that meets the needs of modern people accustomed to busy lifestyles."
He also added, "This new product incorporates Dyson's innovative technologies, such as a conical brush that removes even the longest hair without tangling, a head that automatically adjusts suction power and speed, and a new Hyperdymium motor delivering 315AW of suction power. These features provide a powerful and convenient cleaning experience in a variety of dirty environments."
This new model is equipped with the new 'All Floor Cone Sense Cleaner Head', enabling effective cleaning regardless of floor type. The two conical brush bars are designed to taper towards the ends, pushing long hair to both sides while operating to prevent it from wrapping around the brush bar. The displaced hair is immediately transferred to the dustbin, allowing for clean removal of long hair without tangling.
Smart features that adjust the motor's suction power and brush bar rotation speed according to floor material have also been applied. As a result, users can clean carpets deeply and hard floors delicately without the hassle of changing heads. The All Floor Cone Sense Cleaner Head combines the advantages of the Dyson Digital Motorbar Cleaner Head, specialized for soft surfaces like carpets, and the Dyson Fluffy Cleaner Head, suitable for hard surfaces like wooden floors, into one. In addition, the illumination LED lights installed on the head reveal dust that was previously invisible, enabling thorough cleaning even in dark corners and crevices.
This new model is equipped with a new Hyperdymium 900W motor. This motor rotates up to 140,000 times per minute and offers 50% higher power density compared to the previous generation. It provides up to 315AW of suction power for up to 70 minutes, effectively capturing even fine dust particles.
Dyson's new patented 'Dynamic Cyclone Technology' has also been applied. The cyclone utilizes powerful centrifugal force to effectively separate dust and contaminants from the air, minimizing suction loss. When Boost Mode is activated, five additional cyclones are automatically engaged to deliver even higher suction power, ensuring stable cleaning performance even in heavily contaminated environments.
The new Clean Compactor dustbin system, which can compress and store more dust, has also been introduced. It can hold three times more dust than previous models, storing up to 30 days' worth of dust and debris, reducing the inconvenience of frequent emptying. The interior of the dustbin has been redesigned to be smooth and flat. When the side lever is pulled to empty the dustbin, the inside is wiped simultaneously, allowing for hygienic maintenance without touching the dust.
Other advanced features include a five-stage HEPA filtration system that captures up to 99.99% of dust particles as small as 0.1 microns, a dust detection sensor that senses up to 15,000 fine particles per second and automatically adjusts power, and an LCD screen that displays the size and quantity of vacuumed dust in real time.
Integration with the MyDyson app is also supported. The app provides various information about the device, such as usage guides and maintenance instructions, helping users maintain stable performance over a long period.
The Piston Animal Submarine Vacuum + Wet Cleaner, which includes the Submarine 2.0 wet cleaning head as an additional accessory, can clean up to 110 square meters with its 300ml water tank installed in the head. The fast-rotating, high-density microfiber brush thoroughly cleans stains from the floor. The water supply mode allows for precise control of water spray, and in Max mode, even stubborn or old stains can be powerfully removed.
The Piston Animal is compatible with various upcoming accessories designed for different cleaning habits and environments, such as the Deep Cleaning Kit for thorough cleaning of carpets and furniture, the Pet Grooming Kit, and the Extended Reach Kit for hard-to-reach areas. In the future, a docking station with automatic dust emptying will also be released, offering an even more convenient cleaning experience for users who require a larger dustbin capacity.
