Yangsan City Health Center Launches "Healthy Summer Along the Market Streets" Campaign

Staying Healthy This Summer
Through Infectious Disease Prevention

During the summer, when temperatures and humidity rise, the activity of bacteria and viruses increases, leading to a rise in waterborne and foodborne infectious diseases. In addition, frequent outdoor activities result in an increase in mosquito- and tick-borne infectious diseases.

Furthermore, with the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in Southeast Asia, proper hygiene management and proactive prevention are more important than ever.

In response to the full onset of summer, the Yangsan City Health Center has been actively promoting practical infectious disease prevention guidelines to help citizens stay healthy during the season. Starting from Yangsan Nambu Market on the 16th, the center is visiting local markets by region until the 20th to raise awareness about everyday preventive measures.

The infectious disease prevention guidelines emphasized by the health center include: practicing proper handwashing with hand sanitizer; thoroughly cooking and boiling food before consumption; following proper cough etiquette; maintaining strict personal hygiene; using repellents to prevent mosquito- and tick-borne infectious diseases; and checking for information on prevalent infectious diseases and receiving vaccinations before traveling abroad.

A health center official stated, "We hope that citizens will pay attention to these small steps in their daily lives and practice infectious disease prevention guidelines to enjoy a healthy, infection-free summer."
