The market development team, consisting of eight small and medium-sized enterprises from the Icheon area, held export consultation meetings with local buyers in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from June 9 to June 14, over a period of six days and four nights.
This project, which has been commissioned and implemented by the city through the Gyeonggi-do Business and Science Accelerator since 2017, aims to help promising small and medium-sized enterprises expand into overseas markets. Participating companies receive support such as overseas buyer discovery, local consultation arrangements, interpretation, and airfare assistance.
The city particularly noted that this market development team signed 12 business agreements with local companies and is currently pursuing contracts worth $5,287,000, raising expectations for tangible results.
Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "I hope that the contracts being pursued by the market development team will lead to continuous export growth and become a breakthrough for the growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises. We will continue to support the overseas expansion of SMEs through various export support projects in the future."
