Bread Sales Up 17% Year-on-Year Last Year
"One of the Categories with High Growth Potential"
Emart24 announced on June 17 that it is launching its own bakery brand, 'BOTD'.
BOTD stands for 'Bakery of the Day', and is Emart24's new bakery brand. The company aims to establish itself as a convenience store that serves as a 'bakery customers want to visit every day' by offering differentiated breads and desserts.
The reason Emart24 is launching a new bakery brand is because bread sales have been growing every year. Emart24 sees bakery as one of the categories with high growth potential in convenience stores. In fact, Emart24's bread sales recorded double-digit growth, increasing by 25% in 2023 compared to the previous year, and by 17% last year.
Emart24 plans to continuously expand its range of breads and desserts through the BOTD brand. The first BOTD products to be introduced by Emart24 are three items: Danpat Cream Cube Bread, Melon Cream Bread (to be launched on the 26th), and Melon Cream Roll (to be launched on the 26th).
In addition, from June 19 to the end of the month, Emart24 will hold a promotion where customers who purchase the 'Danpat Cream Cube Bread' will receive either an 'Epressso Coffee (HOT)' or a 'Haruiliter Bottled Water 500ml' as a complimentary gift.
Choi Myungsoo, MD of the Emart24 HMR Team, stated, "We have launched the new in-house bakery brand 'BOTD' in line with the trend of increasing customer demand for delicious breads and desserts every year," adding, "We will continue to introduce various types of 'BOTD' products to capture the tastes of bread enthusiasts across the country."
