Woman Exposed After Men's and Women's Bathhouse Stickers Swapped in Incheon; Man in His 20s Booked

Booked Without Detention for Obstruction of Business
Woman Suffers Bodily Exposure and Is Currently Under Psychiatric Treatment

A man in his twenties has been booked by police for causing a woman to suffer bodily exposure after he swapped the men's and women's bathhouse stickers in the elevator of a bathhouse in Incheon.

On June 17, the Incheon Michuhol Police Station announced that they had booked a man in his twenties, referred to as A, without detention on charges of obstruction of business. A is accused of swapping the men's bathhouse sticker next to the third-floor button with the women's bathhouse sticker next to the fifth-floor button in the elevator of a bathhouse in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, at around 11:00 p.m. on May 26, thereby disrupting the operation of the business.

A woman in her twenties who visited the bathhouse at the time reported to the police by calling 112, saying, "I thought it was the women's bathhouse, but it was actually the men's." She stated that she entered an area with male patrons while naked, resulting in her body being fully exposed. After the incident, it was reported that the woman suffered severe psychological trauma and is currently receiving psychiatric treatment.

The police identified two suspects through the building's closed-circuit (CC) TV and summoned A, who swapped the bathhouse stickers, for questioning on June 16. It is reported that A told the police he "did it as a prank."

A police official stated, "A voluntarily appeared at the police station for questioning," and added, "We are reviewing whether there are any additional charges that can be applied in relation to the woman's bodily exposure, aside from obstruction of business." The official also said, "We are considering whether to book the other person who was with A."
