On June 17, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has begun a pilot operation of 781 security CCTVs installed at 294 locations in Hongbuk-eup, Naepo New Town, where the South Chungcheong Provincial Government is located, ahead of their full-scale operation.

Hongseong County, which is currently in the process of transferring the management of security CCTVs in Naepo New Town from Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), plans to strengthen the safety of local residents and establish a system for crime prevention and rapid response through the pilot operation once the transfer procedures are completed.

Through this pilot operation, the county will adjust the camera angles and check for any equipment malfunctions, and based on this, will complete an efficient monitoring system to further enhance crime prevention activities for the safety of residents.

The security CCTVs in Naepo New Town are equipped with a deep learning-based intelligent video analysis system, which enables real-time analysis of various incidents and accidents such as assaults, loitering, and people collapsing. The system is designed to immediately deliver selected footage to the control center, allowing for rapid response.

The county expects that, following the pilot operation and the start of full-scale operation of the security CCTVs in Naepo New Town, it will be able to provide residents with enhanced public safety services.

A county official stated, "We are doing our utmost to establish a thorough safety net to protect the lives and property of our residents," adding, "We will continue to actively utilize advanced technology to provide an even safer living environment in the future."

Meanwhile, as of now, Hongseong County operates a total of 2,967 CCTVs at 1,080 locations, including Naepo New Town (Hongbuk-eup), through an integrated control center 24 hours a day, year-round.
