Singer and actress IU (32) visited an exhibition featuring grandmothers from the Jeju region who participated as artists.

On June 16, IU posted several photos on her Instagram along with the caption, "I came to keep my promise to the Jeju Halmaeng artists at Gwangryetdol, Aesoon." The photos show IU visiting the Jeju exhibition "Poksak Sogasuda: Dol, Eomeong, and Halmaeng."

Nine grandmother artists from Jeju presented paintings inspired by touching scenes from the Netflix drama "Poksak Sogasuda" at this exhibition. IU took photos with the grandmother artists, creating a heartwarming atmosphere. She was also seen playfully smiling while posing with life-size cutouts of the drama's main characters, Aesoon and Gwansik, and calmly appreciating the exhibited works. Netizens who saw the photos commented, "Aesoon is the best," "IU is so loyal," and "Beautiful and lovely," among other reactions.

The "Seonheul Painting Workshop," located in Seonheul-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju City, has been hosting the "Poksak Sogasuda: Dol, Eomeong, and Halmaeng" art exhibition from May 2 to June 29. This exhibition features nine grandmother artists from Jeju, with an average age of 87, and artist Choi Soyeon as the 'painting teacher.' Together, they present works depicting moving scenes from the drama. The exhibition is open to visitors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the drama "Poksak Sogasuda" tells the story of Aesoon (IU), a "spirited rebel" from Jeju, and Gwansik (Park Bogum), a "devoted iron man," as they live adventurous lives across the four seasons. The drama not only ranked first in buzzworthy rankings but also achieved global popularity, reaching fourth place on Netflix's weekly global non-English TV show chart.
