The agency Adore announced on June 17 that NewJeans' track "New Jeans" has surpassed 400 million streams on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify.
As of June 15, "New Jeans," a track from NewJeans' second EP "Get Up," had accumulated a total of 400,245,638 streams. This marks the sixth song by NewJeans to surpass 400 million streams.
This song is characterized by its unique structure that moves between UK garage rhythms and Jersey club rhythms. The music video, created in collaboration with the American animation "The Powerpuff Girls," also received a strong response. Featuring the members transforming into characters and embarking on an adventure in an unknown world, the video combines 3D animation with live action for a distinctive visual style, and even reached No. 1 on YouTube's trending videos in the United States.
To date, NewJeans has a total of 15 songs on Spotify that have each surpassed 100 million streams. "OMG" has exceeded 800 million streams; "Ditto" and "Super Shy" have each surpassed 700 million streams; "Hype Boy" has surpassed 600 million streams; "Attention" and "New Jeans" have each surpassed 400 million streams; and "ETA" has surpassed 300 million streams.
In addition, "Cookie," "Hurt," "Cool With You," and "How Sweet" have each surpassed 200 million streams, while "ASAP," "Get Up," "Supernatural," and "Bubble Gum" have each surpassed 100 million streams. The cumulative number of Spotify streams for NewJeans has exceeded 6.3 billion.
