Gwangju Employers Federation to Hold Friday Forum on "Trump and the Middle East Situation" on the 20th

The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on the 17th that it will host a special lecture for the 1,689th Friday Breakfast Forum on June 20 at the Convention Hall on the 3rd floor of the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel, inviting Professor Park Hyundo, a Middle East expert from Sogang University, to speak on the topic "Trump 2.0 and the Middle East Situation."

Professor Park is a faculty member at the EuroMENA Institute of Sogang University. He has served as a policy advisory committee member for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Middle East research specialist at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, an instructor for religious discrimination prevention education for public officials at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the head of the Judaism-Islam division at the Korean Association for the Study of Religion. He has also appeared on various TV programs such as TVN's "Naked World History," and published books including "Islam of the World" and "Going to Islam."

This forum is expected to include additional lectures on the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East, covering topics such as: the Middle East and energy, the decline of the US-led world order, Trump and the Middle East, Israel, Iran, the Iran-Israel war, the Iranian economy, Iran's nuclear program, Iran's nuclear program and the United States, Syria, Korea-Syria diplomatic relations, the cold peace in the Middle East, and the Middle East and Korea.

Chairman Yang Jinseok stated, "Professor Park is an expert on Middle Eastern affairs as an Islamic studies scholar in Korea. If the recent escalation between Iran and Israel leads to a sharp rise in oil prices, it will place a significant burden on both the global and regional economies, so swift negotiations are the answer. For member companies exporting to the United States and the Middle East, this forum will be of great help."
