The number of cases assessed is approximately 43,000, which represents an increase of about 1.6% (60 million won) compared to the same period last year. Automobile tax is levied twice a year, in June and December, and this first-half installment covers the period of ownership from January 1 to June 30. The payment deadline is June 30.

If payment is made after the deadline, a 3% late payment penalty will be imposed. In addition, if the automobile tax exceeds 450,000 won, an additional late payment penalty will be charged, and the taxpayer may face various disadvantages such as vehicle seizure or license plate confiscation.

Payment can be made not only at counters of financial institutions and post offices nationwide, but also via ATM/CD machines, virtual account transfers, the Wetax internet system, Giro, ARS, and unmanned payment machines. For more details, citizens can contact the Taxation Division's Assessment Team at City Hall or the local tax officer at each eup, myeon office, or dong community center.

Mayor Lee Haksoo said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all citizens who have faithfully paid their local taxes despite the difficult economic conditions," adding, "Automobile tax is a major source of independent revenue for Jeongeup City and will be used to enhance the quality of life for our citizens."
