Participation in the "China Beauty Online Market Entry Seminar"
Offering Customized Consulting for Entry into the Chinese Market
KOLMAR Korea announced on June 17 that it has partnered with Tmall Global, Alibaba Group's largest e-commerce platform in China, to support the entry of K-beauty brands into the Chinese market. This strategy aims to help domestic cosmetics companies expand overseas, amid rising expectations for improved Korea-China relations.
On June 16, KOLMAR Korea participated as a speaker at the "China Beauty Online Market Entry Seminar" held at the SETEC Convention Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Organized by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) and co-hosted by Tmall Global, the event was designed to provide practical information to beauty SMEs in Seoul seeking to enter the Chinese market.
Tmall Global is China's leading e-commerce platform, with approximately 880 million monthly active users. Recently, as demand for premium products has grown in China and trust in K-brands has increased, the platform has been actively attracting Korean brands and distributors.
At the event, KOLMAR Korea introduced major trends in the global cosmetics market and shared product trends and examples of technological innovation from both the Korean and Chinese markets. Lee Jiyeon, Head of the Marketing Division at KOLMAR Korea, delivered a presentation, offering brand-customized strategies for entering the Chinese market and market response know-how as a leading global cosmetics ODM company. After the event, participants were given the opportunity to receive practical guidance on platform entry through one-on-one customized consultations.
KOLMAR Korea plans to use this collaboration as an opportunity to further expand customized consulting and global platform connections to support its clients' entry into the Chinese market. The company also intends to strengthen distribution channels and partnerships to support the overseas expansion of the K-beauty industry.
A KOLMAR Korea representative stated, "This event marks the first step in full-scale cooperation with China's largest platform and is expected to be a real turning point for our clients entering the Chinese market. We will continue to enhance the global competitiveness of K-beauty and achieve mutual growth together with our clients."
Meanwhile, the Seoul Business Agency is currently recruiting the second round of participants for the "2025 China Online Market Entry Support Project" in conjunction with this seminar. Selected companies will receive customized support, including a fast-track for platform entry, matching with designated partners, and joint promotions. Eligible applicants are Seoul-based SMEs with their own brands that have either completed or are in the process of registering their English brand trademarks in Korea as of the application deadline. The application deadline is June 20.
