KGA, which entered the KOSDAQ market through a merger with Samsung SPAC No.9, is showing strong performance on its first day of listing.
As of the morning of June 17, the company was trading at 6,360 KRW, up 3.41% from the reference price.
Founded in 2017, KGA is a developer of next-generation secondary battery process equipment, such as all-solid-state batteries, as well as expansion power solutions for humanoids. KGA specializes in developing equipment for existing lithium-ion batteries, including lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and nickel cobalt manganese (NCM), as well as next-generation equipment such as all-solid-state batteries. The company has secured numerous global top-tier clients in addition to major domestic battery manufacturers, boasting the largest customer pool among domestic companies.
Last year, KGA achieved its highest-ever performance with consolidated sales of approximately 51.4 billion KRW. The company recorded an operating profit of 3.4 billion KRW and a net profit of 2.8 billion KRW. With its listing as a turning point, KGA aims to surpass 100 billion KRW in annual orders for the first time in its history.
KGA has identified all-solid-state batteries and expansion power solutions for humanoids as its two main growth pillars, and is expanding its business centered around its new Pyeongtaek plant. Once the new plant, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year, begins full-scale operations, KGA's production capacity (CAPA) will expand by more than four times compared to the current level.
KGA recently supplied electrode process equipment for all-solid-state batteries to major clients. The company expects large-scale orders as these clients begin mass production. Research and development in next-generation battery equipment fields, such as sodium battery equipment, will also be conducted at the Pyeongtaek plant alongside all-solid-state battery equipment.
The humanoid business will also be fully launched using the Pyeongtaek plant as a base. KGA is collaborating with Mobil Robotics to develop the FIB and FIS expansion power solutions, which can more than double the operating time of humanoids. The company believes that demand for these solutions will increase rapidly as the introduction of humanoid robots accelerates in downstream markets.
KGA is also accelerating new businesses, including aerogel equipment for aerospace and defense applications, battery restoration devices, and anode flake materials. Aerogel is a new material with both high thermal insulation and heat dissipation properties, making it highly promising not only for aerospace but also as a heat dissipation material for secondary batteries. KGA has proven its technological capabilities by supplying related equipment to global companies.
A KGA representative stated, "We have developed numerous innovative pieces of equipment that lead the industry by working closely with top-tier clients both domestically and internationally. With our listing, we will develop a variety of 'game changer items' in future core industries such as all-solid-state batteries and humanoids, aiming to preemptively secure market leadership."
He added, "Especially after the completion of the Pyeongtaek plant, we will take a step forward as a global equipment company equipped with production capacity, technological prowess, and delivery responsiveness. We will do our utmost to enhance corporate value and shareholder value through continuous technological development and market expansion."
