This project was initiated to alleviate the chronic parking shortage in the densely populated residential area of Yangjae-dong and to improve the convenience of residents' daily lives. The Yangjaecheon Neighborhood Park public parking lot will be built with a total project cost of 30.3 billion won, featuring two underground levels and a total of 151 parking spaces. The first and second basement floors will be used as parking areas, while the ground level will feature a book lounge and landscaped park areas, creating a relaxing space accessible to all residents.
The site is located underground at Yangjaecheon Neighborhood Park, across from Dongwon Industries at Po-i Sageori, with a total parking lot floor area of 6,619.5 square meters. Since the initial plan in 2020, the district has made several design changes to reflect the results of the Seoul Metropolitan Urban Park Committee's review, ultimately finalizing the design in January of this year after considerable effort. Construction will proceed in earnest following the groundbreaking ceremony and is scheduled to take approximately 28 months, with completion targeted for September 2027.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Seongsoo Jeon, mayor of Seocho District, as well as Ji Woojong, CEO of the construction company Poonglim Industry Co., Ltd., and other related officials.
Mayor Seongsoo Jeon stated, "With the construction of this new public parking lot, we expect to partially resolve the parking difficulties in the residential areas of Yangjae-dong and provide a more convenient parking environment for visitors to Yangjaecheon Neighborhood Park."
