The meeting began with a report on the progress of the local extinction response fund projects from 2022 to 2025 and the status of the 2026 local extinction response fund investment plan. In-depth discussions followed on the prioritization of the 2026 investment plan, the draft implementation plan for responding to population decline areas in 2025, and the report on the implementation status of the 2024 plan.

The Hamyang County Population Decline Area Response Committee was established under the Special Act on Support for Population Decline Areas to promote autonomous and proactive regional development by local governments in response to the population decline crisis, improve living conditions in population decline areas, and revitalize the region. The committee deliberates on basic and implementation plans for responding to population decline areas, researches and advises on policies to promote population inflow and prevent outflow, and performs related roles.

During the meeting, various suggestions were made to improve living conditions and create jobs to attract young people and increase the resident population. The proposed ideas will be actively reflected in the 2026 local extinction response fund investment plan.

Deputy County Governor Baek Samjong stated, "We will actively respond to population decline by thoroughly reflecting the projects and evaluation items decided by this committee," adding, "We will continue to seek solutions to local extinction in various ways to ensure the sustainable development of Hamyang County."
