WSJ: Iran Expresses Willingness to Negotiate with Israel... International Oil Prices Fall Nearly 4% EPA Yonhap News

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on June 16 (local time), Iran has indicated through Arab mediators that it could return to the negotiating table on the condition that the United States does not participate in Israeli attacks against Iran.

This statement from Iran comes as Israel continues to carry out intense airstrikes, having declared air superiority over Iranian airspace. The Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of key Iranian military leaders, leading to increasing isolation for Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

However, the WSJ reported that Israeli leadership is expected to continue additional attacks in order to destroy more of Iran's nuclear facilities and further undermine the power of the Iranian government.

Following reports that Iran is seeking to halt hostilities and pursue dialogue, international oil prices are falling by nearly 4%. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude is trading at $68.69 per barrel, down $2.60 (3.65%) from the previous day, while Brent crude, the global oil price benchmark, is trading at $71.47 per barrel, down $2.76 (3.72%) from the previous day.
