Director Kim Bosol's "Gwangjang" Wins Jury Award at Annecy International Animation Festival

Director Kim Bosol's feature-length animation "Gwangjang" has won the Jury Award at the Annecy International Animation Festival in France, which is considered the world's most prestigious animation film festival.

According to the Annecy festival's website on June 16, "Gwangjang" was selected as the winner of the Jury Award in the Contrechamp section at the 49th Annecy Festival, which concluded on June 14 (local time).

The Contrechamp section is a competition category established by the festival in 2007 to showcase animations with challenging and distinctive content and form.

"Gwangjang" tells a 73-minute story about a Swedish diplomat stationed in Pyongyang, North Korea, and a North Korean traffic police officer who fall in love. This film is director Kim's graduation project from the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA).
