On June 16, the city announced that it had approved the construction permit for 'Yonsei Hanam Hospital' (tentative name), which will be the first general hospital in Hanam, on June 12. The hospital plans to begin construction in October and aims to complete the building in the second half of 2027.

During a meeting with Mayor Lee Hyunjae on June 16, officials from Yonsei Hanam Hospital explained that the hospital will have 207 beds and will include essential specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and an emergency room, as well as a health screening center, a spine and joint center, and a rehabilitation center. They also stated that the hospital will provide high-quality medical services with a sophisticated and beautiful exterior design and convenient interior spaces.

To expedite the establishment of the general hospital, Hanam City applied a 'one-stop civil service' that reduced administrative processing to two weeks, enabling early completion of the permit process. This marks another successful case of attracting businesses, following Seongwon Adpia and Roger Nine Co., Ltd.

So far, Hanam City has strategically attracted a total of 12 companies, including hospitals and R&D centers, with an estimated investment of over 817.9 billion won and the creation of approximately 2,000 jobs, including the attraction of Yonsei Hanam Hospital, as well as excellent companies, hospitals, and R&D centers, thereby building diverse infrastructure in addition to businesses and jobs.

Lee Hyunjae, who has been recognized as an 'industrial economy expert' by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the National Assembly, has, since taking office as the 8th popularly elected mayor of Hanam, focused on making Hanam a 'business-friendly city,' which is essential for strengthening the city's industrial and economic base. To this end, he has formed and operated an 'investment attraction team' mainly composed of former high-ranking officials from central government agencies, introduced a 1:1 corporate project manager (PM) system, enacted the 'Hanam City Ordinance on Corporate Investment Attraction and Support' to provide incentives, and established an enterprise attraction center to actively attract companies.

As a result, Hanam is moving forward as a self-sufficient city that creates future growth engines by building diverse infrastructure in each region, including the headquarters of Seohee Construction (Misa), Seongwon Adpia (Pungsan), and the R&D center of Roger Nine Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of the well-known golf brand PXG (Gam-il).

Estimated corporate investment over the past three years amounts to approximately 817.9 billion won, and when including undisclosed companies, the actual investment is expected to exceed 1 trillion won.

These achievements in attracting companies have also been highly recognized externally, as Hanam City received the top award in the city-level corporate support category at the '2024 Korea Regional Economy Awards' announced by the Korean Association for Regional Economics on June 11.

In particular, Hanam City plans to continue to attract more excellent companies by actively promoting its outstanding transportation network, location, excellent living infrastructure, and civil service as its greatest strengths, as well as by utilizing a one-stop support system that quickly resolves corporate difficulties and a system of investment attraction subsidies and incentives. The city also plans to successfully carry out major development projects such as K-Star World, Camp Colbern, and Gyosan New Town self-sufficiency sites.

Mayor Lee Hyunjae stated, "In order to improve Hanam City's greatest weakness, which has been its industrial and economic base, we have established an investment attraction division and are making every effort to attract companies and investment," adding, "Going forward, through continuous achievements in investment attraction and development projects, we will make Hanam leap forward to become the most livable city in the Seoul metropolitan area, rivaling Gangnam."
