Korea Confucian Culture Promotion Institute Launches "K-Yugyo Culture Academy"

A Total of Eight Lectures Covering Joseon Scientific Heritage, Astronomy, and Record-Keeping Culture

The Korea Confucian Culture Promotion Institute announced on the 16th that it is operating the 4th K-Yugyo Culture Academy under the theme "Humans Who Record the Sky, Stories That Engrave Time."

Approximately 50 participants from Chungnam Province, Sejong, and Daejeon are taking part in this academy. The program consists of a total of eight lectures, which will be held until October 17.

In particular, the academy is linked with Han Yujin's special exhibition "Sisikakgak (時視各各)," offering a broad perspective on the science of the Joseon Dynasty. Key topics include astronomy, calendars, astronomical instruments, record-keeping culture, Sunrakun (patrol officers), and Gwansanggam (the Royal Bureau of Astronomy).

The fourth lecture, scheduled for July 25, will be held in conjunction with the "K-Culture and Korean Philosophy" program of the Sungkyunkwan University K-Scholarly Diffusion Research Center. Participants who complete this lecture will also receive a separate certificate of completion.

President Jeong Jaekeun stated, "Through this K-Yugyo Culture Academy, we hope to shed new light on the humanistic spirit embedded in the wisdom and traditional science of Confucian culture, understand the creativity and community spirit inherent in our scientific heritage, and reflect on the roots of K-culture."
