Dongshin University announced on the 16th that three teams of students from the Department of Computer Science's information security club 'HawklS' recently received Excellence Paper Awards at the '2025 Korea Information and Communication Society Spring Comprehensive Academic Conference'.

At this academic conference, eight fourth-year students from Dongshin University's Department of Computer Science, who are members of the information security club (HawklS) and are participating in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Innovative Convergence Campus Convergence Security Club Support Project', formed three teams to participate.

The team of Lim Hojin and Joo Kyunghoon, supervised by Professor Kim Jongmin, presented on 'A Proposed Architecture to Strengthen the Security of Interconnection Sections in Network Interconnection Systems.' The team of Kim Yongjun, Kim Geobin, Noh Kwangseong, and Shin Minseong introduced 'Implementation of an LLM-based Security Log Management System.'

In addition, the team of Oh Daeun and Lee Hojun, supervised by Professor Lee Donghwi, presented 'A Proposal for Building a Multi-layered Security System Environment for Small-scale Networks Using UTM,' which received high praise.

This achievement is especially meaningful as it demonstrates the capabilities of future talents who will lead the next-generation information security paradigm amid an increasingly sophisticated cyber threat environment.

Kim Jongmin, a professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, said, "Our students' ability to quickly acquire the latest technology trends and apply them to real systems is thanks to our department's systematic educational program," adding, "We will continue to provide full support so that our students can grow into top experts in the industry after graduation."
