This ceremony was held to commemorate the noble spirit of sacrifice and patriotism of General Shin Dolseok, who was renowned as a late Joseon-era anti-Japanese militia leader. More than 150 people attended, including the general's descendants and members of the Memorial Committee.

The memorial rite followed traditional Confucian rituals, with Yeongdeok County Governor Kim Kwangyeol serving as the chief officiant, Yeongdeok Cultural Center Director Kim Dugi as the second officiant, and Park Taesu, a descendant of General Park Byeongryul of the Yeongneung Militia, as the third officiant.

The ceremony included a memorial address, commemorative speeches, recitations honoring the patriotic spirit of General Shin Dolseok and the Yeongneung Militia, as well as memorial performances.

Notably, this year's event was attended by Captain Park Jaewon and crew members of the 1,800-ton submarine Shindolseokham, which established a sisterhood relationship with Yeongdeok County in 2017, further highlighting the general's love for his country and his legacy.
