Gyeonggi Province is set to fully launch the construction of the "Gyeonggi Province Audit Information System" as part of its transition toward digital and data-driven audits.
Gyeonggi Province is the first local government in the country to digitize its entire audit operations. The province plans to complete system development within this year and begin full-scale operation by the end of the year.
On the 13th, Gyeonggi Province held a kickoff report meeting for the "Gyeonggi Province Audit Information System Construction" project, attended by members of the Audit Committee, the Provincial Council, and representatives from the project contractor, to discuss the system's development direction.
The Gyeonggi Province Audit Information System will be developed based on the results of the "Audit Information System Informatization Strategy Plan (ISP) Establishment Service," which was conducted from November last year to March this year.

Gyeonggi Province expects that by integrating the entire audit process?from audit planning to audit results and follow-up management?into a single platform, it will significantly enhance both the efficiency and reliability of audit operations. In addition, the system will be designed to collect and analyze various audit data, enabling not only fairer and more objective audits but also helping to eliminate audit blind spots.
Furthermore, generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be piloted within the audit information system to verify the potential and effectiveness of generative AI in audit tasks. The AI features being introduced are based on the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technique. Audit data accumulated in the system will be structured so that AI can analyze it, and intelligent search functions using natural language queries and responses will be implemented to further enhance data usability. In addition, various work support features will be provided to significantly reduce the administrative burden on both auditors and audited institutions. An internal generative AI server will also be established to address security concerns.
An Sangseop, Chairperson of the Gyeonggi Province Audit Committee, stated, "The Gyeonggi Province Audit Information System is not just a business support tool, but a core system that will drive innovation in Gyeonggi Province's audit administration by transforming the audit paradigm. We will reduce the burden on audited institutions and build a fair and transparent audit system that earns the trust of our residents."
