The fair featured participation from 95 universities nationwide, including Seoul National University. In addition to providing information on each university's admission process, the event also offered personalized one-on-one counseling. Career and college admission counseling teachers affiliated with the Jeonnam Career and College Admission Counseling Center also provided customized counseling to support students in developing their college admission strategies.
On the 12th, at the Suncheon Eastern Region fair venue, Superintendent Kim Daejung of Jeonnam met with the president of Suncheon National University, as well as representatives from Chosun University, Chodang University, and other major local universities, to discuss key educational issues in the region over tea.
During the meeting, Superintendent Kim emphasized, "There is a need to improve the regionally tailored teacher recruitment system for secondary school teachers," adding, "The Provincial Office of Education is currently making policy proposals to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to address this." He continued, "It is a very positive trend that the CSAT scores of Jeonnam students have been steadily improving recently," and suggested, "Let us achieve qualitative growth in local education in collaboration with local universities."
At the fair, there were also special lectures on changes to the 2026 college admission system, such as the expansion of student record-based admissions, the strengthening of local talent selection, and the increased emphasis on document and interview-based admissions. These lectures provided practical strategies and responses to the changing admissions environment, drawing significant interest from students and parents.
On the final day of the fair, the 13th, a "College Admission Guidance Capacity Building Workshop" for teachers was held at the Central Library of Chodang University, further enhancing the capacity for college admission guidance at schools.
Jeon Seonga, Head of the Career Education Division, said, "This fair was an invaluable opportunity for Jeonnam students who have difficulty accessing college admission information," and added, "We will continue to provide highly reliable information so that students can quickly adapt to the changing admissions environment, and we will further strengthen our tailored support for college admissions."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to continue offering personalized counseling after the fair through the Jeonnam Career and College Admission Support Portal and career and college admission counseling centers in Mokpo, Naju, Suncheon, Yeosu, Gwangyang, and other locations in the province.
