A is accused of threatening his wife, identified as B and in her 30s, with a weapon on a street in Yeongcheon-dong, Hwaseong, at around 4:10 p.m. on June 14.
A, who resides in Seoul, reportedly tracked B’s location using the secondhand trading app she commonly uses after she left home, went to the area, waited for her to appear, and then committed the crime.
A was apprehended at the scene as a flagrant offender by police who responded to the report. It is reported that B was not injured during the incident. During police questioning, A stated, "I suspected my wife, who left home, was having an affair, so I went looking for her."
The police have applied for an arrest warrant for A and are investigating the details of the incident. A police official stated, "It does not appear that A lured B out under the pretense of a secondhand transaction," and added, "There is no record of previous police reports for domestic violence or similar incidents involving them."
