President Lee Jaemyung will attend a reception hosted by the Premier of Alberta and a welcome dinner hosted by the Governor General in Canada on the 16th, local time.

The Presidential Office announced during a briefing on this day that President Lee, who is visiting Canada to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit, will carry out these events together with First Lady Kim Hyekyung.

Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, stated, "Through this occasion, President Lee will build rapport with leaders of various countries and lay the groundwork for achieving tangible results on current issues, including trade matters." She added, "In particular, by highlighting the greatness of our people who overcame martial law and rebellion, as well as the strength of K-democracy, we expect to further elevate Korea's standing in the world."

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether a summit meeting will take place during the G7 summit. A Presidential Office official said regarding the possibility of a summit, "We are actively pursuing it," but added, "It is difficult to say at this time."

Meanwhile, spokesperson Kang conveyed that during his trip, President Lee asked staff of the Presidential Office and other government officials to do their utmost to ensure stable and smooth state affairs management.
