The Intellectual Property Committee of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association announced on June 16 that it will host the "1st Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Companies' Japan Market Entry Strategy Webinar" in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Korea on June 26. The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association and the Embassy of Japan in Korea have planned a total of two webinars this year, and this upcoming event is the first in the series.
This webinar, held under the theme of "Intellectual Property-Based Strategies for Entering the Japanese Market," targets member companies of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association that have entered or are planning to enter the Japanese market, as well as government officials and related organizations.
The lecture program includes: ▲ Current Status and Outlook of the Japanese Generic Pharmaceutical Industry (Maeda Yuki, Editor-in-Chief of Ensor News) ▲ Patent Strategies and Innovation Management of Japanese Global Pharmaceutical Companies (Sumikura Koichi, Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies).
Editor-in-Chief Maeda Yuki will review policy trends in the Japanese generic pharmaceutical industry and share approaches to addressing challenges such as quality fraud and supply instability. Professor Sumikura Koichi will introduce the patent and open innovation strategies of Japanese global pharmaceutical companies.
Participation in the event is available through online registration, and interested parties can refer to the announcement board in the notice section of the website until June 23.
Meanwhile, since its launch in September last year, the Intellectual Property Committee of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association has been sharing information on intellectual property rights, such as policy and system changes and court rulings, among member companies, and has served as a policy channel with relevant government agencies including the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The Intellectual Property Committee holds regular seminars for patent practitioners every year, and this year plans to organize two webinars jointly with the Embassy of Japan in Korea. In the second webinar, scheduled for the second half of the year (August), a Japanese patent attorney specializing in pharmaceuticals will introduce topics including ▲ pharmaceutical patent applications in Japan ▲ the patent linkage system and major precedents.
