This event was organized to express gratitude to veterans families in commemoration of the Month of Patriots and Veterans, and to provide them with a break from daily life and a time for rest and comfort. The event was supported by Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant and carried out by the Gumi General Social Welfare Center.
On this day, participants visited Eco Land, where they enjoyed a variety of healing programs such as woodworking experiences and monorail rides, sharing emotional stability and joy. Ahead of the 80th anniversary of Liberation in 2025, they also visited the memorial hall of independence activist Huh Wi Wangsan, reflecting on the historical significance of noble sacrifice and dedication.
Park, a Korean War veteran who participated in the event, shared, "It is not easy for me to go out alone, but I felt rejuvenated by experiencing things together and sharing stories."
Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Veterans Office, said, "I am pleased to have provided a meaningful time for veterans families, and I will continue to realize veterans administration in cooperation with the local community by promoting ongoing outing events." He also expressed his gratitude to Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant and the Gumi General Social Welfare Center for their support.
In addition to this outing, Hanwha Systems Gumi Plant is continuously supporting local veterans families through various initiatives, such as delivering gifts on special occasions and improving residential environments.
