On June 16, the first day of the program, Gyeongnam Nonghyup Head Ryu Gilnyeon, Nonghyup Bank Gyeongnam Branch Head Cho Cheongrae, Labor Union Chairman Ryu Seungwan, and about 70 employees shared breakfast together, pledging to take the lead in creating a healthy, rice-centered food culture.

The "1000 Won Breakfast" initiative has mainly been operated at universities in the past, in response to the rising rate of skipping breakfast in society. However, Gyeongnam Nonghyup has decided to introduce the program this time to help employees develop healthy eating habits, improve work efficiency, and further foster a social atmosphere where eating breakfast becomes the norm.

Ryu Gilnyeon stated, "The culture of eating breakfast is not only good for health, but also helps revitalize the local economy by using rice and agricultural products produced in the Gyeongnam region as main ingredients. Our Nonghyup executives and employees will take the lead in promoting the culture of eating breakfast, and together with local governments, organizations, and companies, we will continue the nationwide breakfast campaign."
