Firefighter Hero Supporter Program, Launched in 2006, Has Supported Over 3,700 Firefighters and Their Families with Approximately 10.8 Billion Won Over 20 Years
S-OIL (CEO: Anwar Al Hizazi) delivered a donation of 565 million won for the Firefighter Hero Supporter program at Hotel Naru in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on June 16, together with the National Fire Agency and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
The donation provided by S-OIL will be used for various Firefighter Hero Supporter programs this year, including medical expenses for firefighters injured in the line of duty, scholarships for the children of fallen firefighters, and awards for firefighter heroes.
S-OIL launched the Firefighter Hero Supporter program in 2006 and has continuously supported firefighters and their families, who protect the safety and lives of people in Korea, for 20 years.
At the sponsorship ceremony, marking the 20th anniversary of the Firefighter Hero Supporter program, S-OIL pledged, together with the National Fire Agency and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, to continue developing the Firefighter Hero Supporter activities.
Additionally, as a new initiative, S-OIL announced it would select and award the "S-OIL 119 Master Saver" each year. At the event, 32 paramedics who minimized disabilities through emergency care were chosen and honored at the "S-OIL 119 Master Saver of the Year" awards ceremony.
Through the Firefighter Hero Supporter program over the past 20 years, S-OIL has implemented initiatives such as: ▲ Firefighter Hero of the Year awards ▲ condolence payments to families of fallen firefighters ▲ scholarships for children of fallen firefighters ▲ medical expenses for injured firefighters ▲ and rest camps for firefighter couples. In total, S-OIL has supported approximately 3,700 firefighters and their families with about 10.8 billion won. In recognition of these contributions, S-OIL received the Volunteer Award at the 29th KBS 119 Awards last year, and CEO Al Hizazi was appointed as an honorary firefighter.
S-OIL CEO Anwar Al Hizazi stated, "I am always grateful for the sacrifice and courage of firefighters who dedicate themselves at the scenes of fires and accidents," adding, "I feel proud of the 20th anniversary of the S-OIL Firefighter Hero Supporter activities, and we will continue to support firefighters in the future."
