Spokesperson Kang Yoojeong of the Office of the President explained in a briefing held at the Yongsan Presidential Office on this day, “The Lee Jaemyung administration’s ‘Real Worker Search Project’ will close at 6 p.m. today (the 16th),” adding, “The number of nominations received by yesterday has reached more than 74,000, reflecting a level of public participation higher than expected.”

The Office of the President plans to begin personnel verification based on the nominations received by the deadline. Spokesperson Kang stated, “Once the candidates are selected, we will proceed with a transparent verification process,” and emphasized, “The purpose of the National Recommendation System is to find true workers who will usher in an era of genuine popular sovereignty.” She further noted, “Since the National Recommendation System is not a popularity contest, the number of nominations is only a reference; the reasons for recommendation will be a more important factor in the evaluation.” She added, “Even if a recommended individual is not appointed this time, they will be registered in the database (DB) and may be considered for future appointments in the Lee Jaemyung administration.”

The National Recommendation System was designed to provide opportunities for hidden talents from all walks of life who have quietly dedicated themselves and for capable individuals ready to serve the public to demonstrate new leadership. Anyone can participate by submitting a recommendation on the National Recommendation System website operated by the Ministry of Personnel Management, or by using President Lee’s official social media accounts or email. Notably, on the first day of implementation, 11,324 nominations were received, drawing considerable attention.
