Sales in May Surpassed Last Year's First Half Volume
"Leading the Food Waste Processor Market with Technological Excellence"
Cuckoo's food waste processor brand 'Ecowhale' has achieved explosive sales growth just one month after its launch.
On June 16, Cuckoo announced that its food waste processor sales last month increased by 568% compared to the same period last year. Even when comparing the total sales volume for the first half of last year with the sales for just last month, sales rose by more than 80%. The company analyzed that explosive consumer interest followed the launch of the sixth-generation Ecowhale food waste processor at the end of April. As a result, Cuckoo is now operating its food waste processor production lines at full capacity.
Cuckoo explained that the background for this growth lies in its proprietary high-temperature heating and drying pulverization technology. This technology is based on the heating expertise that has made Cuckoo the top brand in the rice cooker market, and the company emphasized that ongoing research and development leading to product differentiation has directly resulted in strong sales performance. Another strength is the high level of brand trust Cuckoo enjoys in a food waste processor market largely dominated by smaller brands.
Cuckoo was the first in the industry to introduce two types of food waste processors: the drying-pulverization type and the microbial type. The company entered the food waste processor market in February 2020 with its first-generation under-sink type product featuring advanced design. It then responded to market demand with the second-generation lightweight microbial type, the third-generation microbial type with improved microbial management, the fourth-generation drying-pulverization type designed to accommodate diverse eating habits, and the fifth-generation drying-pulverization type equipped with a powerful drying drum.
A company representative stated, "As competition in the food waste processor market intensifies, Cuckoo continues to achieve steady results through unrivaled technological capability and consumer-focused product development," and added, "We will continue to lead the food waste processor market by developing technologies that respond to the changing lifestyles of consumers."
