AI Now Recommends Gifts on Idus

Launch of Gift Recommendation AI Agent "Dear"

Backpackr announced on the 16th that its handmade marketplace, Idus, has launched a gift recommendation artificial intelligence (AI) agent called Dear.

Dear is a conversational product recommendation AI agent based on a large language model (LLM). When Idus customers leave questions such as "Recommend a birthday gift for a woman in her 30s" or "Suggest a housewarming gift" in the Dear chat window on the "Gift Recommendation" tab or the "Search Results" screen, Dear analyzes the recipient and the occasion. It then comprehensively examines detailed information about products listed on Idus, as well as customer order reviews, to recommend the most suitable gift.

In particular, Idus has applied proprietary technology so that Dear can actively understand customer intentions and continue conversations flexibly. The company plans to continue enhancing the feature so that Dear can remember information learned during conversations, such as customer preferences and areas of interest, and use this information for more personalized consultations in the future.

Previously, Idus provided interest-based recommendation features, but with the launch of Dear, the company has been able to deliver a much more precise personalized shopping experience. Dear's main distinction is its ability to recommend products that delicately reflect the customer's preferences and circumstances through conversation, rather than simply listing items.
