Subscribe to Two Platforms with One Plan
Special Offer: 7,900 KRW per Month Until September
On June 16, domestic online video services (OTT) Wavve and Tving, which are in the process of merging, announced the launch of a new subscription plan called the 'Double Pass.' This integrated subscription plan allows users to enjoy content from both platforms with a single subscription, marking the beginning of full-scale collaboration between the two companies.
The Double Pass consists of four types: ▲Double Slim (Wavve Basic + Tving Ad-supported Standard), ▲Double Basic (Wavve Basic + Tving Basic), ▲Double Standard (Wavve Standard + Tving Standard), and ▲Double Premium (Wavve Premium + Tving Premium).
With the integrated subscription plan, users can receive up to a 39% discount compared to subscribing to Wavve and Tving separately. To celebrate the launch, a special promotion will offer the 'Double Slim' pass at a special price of 7,900 KRW per month until September 30.
The integration of the two companies has accelerated after the competition authorities recently granted conditional approval for the business combination. In October, the Korea Fair Trade Commission approved the concurrent holding of executive positions between Wavve and Tving. This means that board members can now be dispatched between the two companies, which can be seen as a preliminary step toward full integration. However, KT Studio Genie, the second-largest shareholder of Tving, remains opposed to the merger, which is why the integrated subscription plan is being introduced first.
Wavve offers not only Wavve original content and exclusive international series but also terrestrial content from MBC and KBS. Tving provides original content, live broadcasts of major channels such as tvN, JTBC, OCN, and Mnet, live sports coverage of the KBO and KBL leagues, and an Apple TV+ branded section.
A Wavve representative stated, "By combining Tving's premium content with Wavve's content, including terrestrial broadcasts, this will be the best option for users who want to enjoy a wide variety of content at a reasonable price."
A Tving representative said, "As the first case of crossing platform boundaries in the increasingly competitive OTT market, this will be an innovative alternative that broadens the range of content choices while reducing the burden of subscription costs. We will deliver an even stronger user experience through reasonable pricing and differentiated content."
