Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor: Won Kangsoo), officially opened the Saenggakjaram Children's Library on the 14th and held a commemorative event. The opening ceremony was attended by Won Kangsoo, mayor of Wonju, as well as provincial and city council members and local residents.

Prior to the main event, performances tailored to children were held, including a concert by the Wonju City Volunteer Youth Choir and a story reading session with children and the mayor. The ceremony continued with congratulatory speeches, a progress report, a letter reading by the children's librarian group, followed by a 'placard performance' and a 'hope airplane flying' event to mark the official beginning of Saenggakjaram, and concluded with a tour of the facility.
Various celebratory events were held in the library's reading room, including experience booths for balloon art and shaker keyring making, a photo zone, an original picture exhibition, a wish tree, a lecture by a children's book author, and a magic show.

The Saenggakjaram Children's Library is a cultural space specializing in children, located in Section 2 of Jungang Park, Musil-dong, Wonju City. The library has a total floor area of 2,558 square meters, with one basement level and two above-ground floors. It houses a collection of 17,879 books and has been open to the public on a trial basis since May 24.
Won Kangsoo, mayor of Wonju, stated, "As the first public children's library in Wonju, we will do our utmost to establish it as a leading cultural space in the region through unique spaces and programs."
