The Siwha National Industrial Complex regeneration project is a program with a total budget of 46.7 billion won, aimed at refurbishing outdated facilities and improving the working environment within the complex by 2027.

The recently completed section covers a 2.3-kilometer stretch of Gongdan 2-daero. Construction began in July 2023, during which the road was widened and sidewalks were improved. The renovated section also includes the installation of on-street parking and the creation of a 314-square-meter pocket park.

The city explained that the maintenance work is expected to not only alleviate traffic congestion and improve logistics efficiency in the area, but also enhance pedestrian safety and improve the urban landscape.

Following the completion of Gongdan 2-daero, the city plans to sequentially renovate other major arterial roads and parks within the industrial complex by 2027, including Gongdan 1-daero, Jeongwangcheon-ro, Mayu-ro, and Okgucheondong-ro.

Jang Daecheol, head of the Industrial Complex Regeneration Division at Siheung City, stated, "Through the regeneration project, we will improve commuting convenience for employees of companies within the complex and lay the foundation for a safer working environment. We will also ensure the remaining projects proceed without delay to revitalize the industrial complex."
