Hanwha General Insurance announced on June 16 that it has been granted exclusive rights for all five newly developed special contracts, including the "Febrile Seizure Diagnosis Benefit," which covers emergency illnesses that primarily affect infants and young children.
As a women-focused insurance company, Hanwha General Insurance has developed new coverage specifically for women raising infants and young children, earning its first exclusive rights of the year. The five special contracts include four diagnosis benefits for emergency illnesses commonly seen in children?namely, febrile seizures, croup and epiglottitis, allergic purpura, and specific diseases accompanied by hypoxemia?as well as an emergency room treatment benefit for high fever, which covers additional examination and treatment costs incurred from sudden emergency room visits due to high fever.

These special contracts provide coverage for various emergency illnesses in infants and young children that were previously difficult to insure under existing products. By minimizing coverage gaps, the company has alleviated the concerns of "childcare moms" regarding emergency situations involving their children. To develop these products, Hanwha General Insurance listened directly to customers and field agents, and conducted product planning and market research over approximately six months, including inviting medical specialists for learning and research on emergency situations.
The newly developed special contracts by Hanwha General Insurance received high marks for both utility and originality. The Febrile Seizure Diagnosis Benefit, Croup and Epiglottitis Diagnosis Benefit, and Allergic Purpura Diagnosis Benefit were granted exclusive rights for six months, while the Emergency Room Treatment Benefit for High Fever and the Specific Disease Diagnosis Benefit Accompanied by Hypoxemia were granted exclusive rights for three months.
Hanwha General Insurance plans to include these special contracts in the "Hanwha Saessak Health Children's Insurance," which is scheduled for release in July. The company also plans to add these special contracts to the "Hanwha Signature Women's Health Insurance Series" upon its launch, thereby continuing to strengthen its product competitiveness as a women-focused insurance provider.
A representative from Hanwha General Insurance stated, "The background for developing these special contracts was that a product planner who is also a parent experienced emergency situations with their own child and realized there were gaps in coverage." The representative added, "Since these special contracts were developed based on real-life experience, they will be very helpful in preparing for emergency situations that can pose a serious threat to precious children."
