The 'Gyeonggimi Gimbap Festa,' where visitors can experience a variety of gimbap made with Gyeonggimi rice, will be held on the 21st at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Suwon Convention Center.
The Gyeonggimi Gimbap Festa is an event first launched last year by Gyeonggi Province to promote the consumption of high-quality Gyeonggimi rice.
This year's event will feature the '2nd National Gimbap Competition,' as well as a variety of side events including hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and sales.
The 2nd National Gimbap Competition will, for the first time this year, include a new category for small business owners. The competition will be divided into two categories: the small business owners' division and the general division.

On the day of the event, there will be various side events such as a tasting event where visitors can sample unique gimbap made with Gyeonggi Province's agricultural specialties, gimbap experience programs including a cooking class for children, and a gimbap curating experience featuring gimbap curator Jung Dahyun.
In addition, there will be a promotional booth for Gyeonggi Province's food masters, as well as a market where visitors can find a variety of rice-based desserts and local agricultural specialties.
Bae Soyoung, head of the Agricultural and Food Distribution Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gimbap is a food that anyone can easily enjoy, and it can serve as a medium to promote the excellence of Gyeonggimi rice. Through this Gimbap Festa, we hope to enhance the added value of Gyeonggi Province's agricultural products and create an opportunity for both consumers and small business owners to grow together."
