On June 15 (local time), President Trump wrote on his self-created social media platform, Truth Social, "Iran and Israel need to negotiate and will reach an agreement," making this statement.

He added, "Many calls and meetings are currently taking place (for mediation). I am doing a lot of work and receive no recognition, but that's okay. The people understand."

President Trump cited his mediation and brokering of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which had escalated to the brink of full-scale war recently, as grounds for his optimism about resolving Middle East conflicts.

He said, "During my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were on the verge of war after decades of conflict, but I stopped it," and argued, "(Former) Biden (former President Joe Biden) ruined the long-term outlook with some very foolish decisions, but I will fix it again."

In an interview with ABC, released that morning, President Trump again suggested the possibility of mediation, stating, "There is a possibility that we may become involved in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran."

He also mentioned his roughly one-hour phone call the previous day with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he is "open" to Putin acting as a mediator. "He is ready. He called me about this, and we discussed it for a long time," Trump said.
