NBC News Poll Conducted
55% Negative Evaluation... 92% of Democratic Supporters Oppose
As the 150th day of Donald Trump's presidency approaches, more than half of Americans have a negative view of his job performance.
According to NBC News on the 15th (local time), a poll conducted jointly with SurveyMonkey surveyed 19,410 adults in the United States from May 30 to June 10. The results showed that 55% of respondents said they do not support President Trump's job performance (margin of error: ±2.1 percentage points).
Support for Trump was at 45%. Even considering the margin of error, negative evaluations outweighed positive ones. This is the same level as the poll conducted in April, when 45% said they supported Trump and 55% said they did not.
By political party, 89% of Republican supporters said they supported President Trump, while 12% said they did not. Among Democratic supporters, 92% said they did not support him, and only 8% said they did. Among independent voters, 65% gave a negative evaluation.
Opinions were divided depending on the policy area.
On border and immigration policy, 51% supported and 49% opposed, highlighting a clear social divide. This survey was conducted at a time when protests against immigration enforcement were taking place in Los Angeles (LA) and controversy was growing over President Trump's deployment of the National Guard.
Regarding President Trump's so-called "crackdown on universities"?targeting elite institutions such as Harvard under the pretext of eradicating antisemitism and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies?56% expressed a negative view, with 42% strongly opposed. As for the impact of elite universities like Harvard on American society, 44% viewed it positively, 24% negatively, and 31% said there was no significant change.
On tariffs and trade policy, 60% responded negatively. Regarding inflation and the burden of living costs, 61% gave a negative evaluation.
