The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office announced on the 15th that, together with Marine Energy Co., Ltd., it had carried out social contribution activities such as visiting and cleaning memorial facilities related to the independence movement.

On June 13, at the "3·1sa" memorial facility located in Mohyeon-ri, Bukui-myeon, Jangseong County, members of the Marine Energy employee volunteer group and officials from the Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office participated in activities to pay tribute and clean the site.

This initiative was organized by the Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office to mark the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation, aiming to help citizens naturally encounter memorial facilities in their daily lives and use them as places for historical experience. Together with the Marine Energy volunteer group, participants spent meaningful time weeding the area around the shrine and cleaning its interior.

Jangseong 3·1sa is a symbolic shrine established in 1989 to honor and enshrine the memorial tablets of 13 independence activists, including Yu Sangseol and Ko Yongseok, who led the March 1st Movement in Mohyeon-ri, Bukui-myeon?a movement recognized as a representative act of resistance in the Jeonnam region against Japanese colonial rule. As a leading independence movement memorial facility in Jangseong County, a memorial service organized by the local clans is held here every March, with descendants and local residents coming together to commemorate the noble spirit of the independence activists.

Jung Hoe, CEO of Marine Energy Co., Ltd., stated, "I find it deeply meaningful to honor the noble spirit of the independence activists who dedicated themselves to the nation and to participate in carrying on their legacy," adding, "We will continue to uphold the values of national defense and veterans affairs in partnership with the local community and fulfill our role as a responsible company through various social contribution activities."
