Goyang City Hosts 5th Goyang International Walking Festival with Over 3,000 Participants

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on June 15 that the "2025 5th Goyang International Walking Festival" was successfully held on the 14th around the Singing Fountain at Ilsan Lake Park.

This event, hosted and organized by the Goyang Walking Federation and sponsored by Goyang City and the National Cancer Center, attracted about 3,000 participants over two days, including walking clubs from across the country and international participants from countries such as Mongolia and the Philippines.

The festival took place over two days, June 14 and 15, and was divided into four courses: 5km, 10km, 20km, and 50km. Courses were developed to accommodate various skill levels, from beginners to experienced walkers, encouraging broad participation.

At the Singing Fountain, which served as both the starting and finishing point, a variety of side events such as celebratory performances and experiential programs were held, receiving an enthusiastic response from participants.

Goyang Special City plans to continue expanding the base of everyday sports and strengthening various sports events and infrastructure, including walking festivals, to promote a sustainable local health culture.
