Andong City to Join 'Hope Market' for Wildfire Recovery... Three-Day Event at Sangam in Seoul Participation in the 'Yeongnam Region Wildfire Damage Hope Market' in Andong City, Gyeongbuk

On June 15, Andong City announced that 14 local agricultural and specialty product companies will take part in the market, which will be held for three days from June 17 to 19 at the Sangam MBC Culture Plaza in Seoul. This is the largest participation among all local governments involved.

The event is co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and MBC, with sponsorship from Lotte Card. It was organized to raise funds for recovery efforts following the wildfires that occurred in the Yeongnam region in March and to stimulate the economies of the affected areas.

A total of 55 participants will join the event, including 45 farms and businesses from seven cities and counties?such as Andong, Uiseong, and Yeongdeok?as well as 10 companies that will donate a portion of their sales revenue.

In particular, companies from Andong that were directly affected by the wildfires will also participate to raise awareness about the reality of the damage and to share firsthand accounts from the local community as it works toward recovery.

An official from Andong City stated, "It is a reality that social interest in wildfire-affected areas is waning over time," adding, "We hope this market will rekindle public attention and become an opportunity for genuine support and solidarity."

In addition to booths selling agricultural and specialty products, the venue will feature a local government promotion zone, a Hope Tree event, cultural performances, and a donation campaign through the Hope Bridge, creating a space for solidarity and mutual support that anyone can join.
