The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jongshik) announced on June 13 that it had carried out its regular local government personnel appointments, effective July 1, 2025.
The promotions include 2 at level 3, 5 at level 4, 5 at level 5, and 78 at level 6 or below, totaling 90 people. Transfers include 1 at level 3, 3 at level 4, 48 at level 5, and 435 at level 6 or below, totaling 487 people. There are also 61 new appointments, bringing the total number of personnel changes to 638.
At level 3, Park Guihun, Director of Planning and Budget, was reassigned as Director of Administration; Jung Jonghee, Head of School Support, was promoted and appointed as Director of Planning and Budget; and Park Dongpil, Director of Yeongju Seonbi Library, was promoted and appointed as Deputy Director-General.
At level 4, Hong Jongseon, Director of Communication and Cooperation, was reappointed as a general fixed-term official. Ban Seonja, Director of Audit Coordination, was reassigned as Director of Andong Library; Kim Chihan, Chief Secretary, was reassigned as Head of School Support. Kim Hyeonja, Head of Administrative Support at Mungyeong Office of Education, was appointed as Director of Audit Coordination. Kim Hyeongi, Head of Administrative Support at Yeongyang Office of Education, was appointed as Chief Secretary. Yoon Gyeongok, Disaster Safety Manager at the Education Safety Division, was appointed as Head of Administrative Training at the Training Institute. Kwon Mihyang, Head of Administrative Support at Gyeongju Office of Education, was appointed as Director of General Affairs at the Science Institute. Kim Huseong, Lifelong Education Manager at the Happy Education Support Division, was promoted and appointed as Director of Administrative Support at Pohang Office of Education.
This round of appointments focused on providing efficient support to schools by adjusting staffing standards for local officials at each school, with the goal of ensuring rational personnel management for smooth, performance-oriented organizational operations.
The appointment ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 25 at the Ungbi Hall of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education. In addition, to help new officials improve their job performance and adapt quickly, practical training will be conducted at their assigned institutions for five days, from June 23 to June 27.
Lim Jongshik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "We will operate a fair and transparent personnel system to boost the morale of local officials and allocate staff appropriately to respond proactively to changes in the administrative environment at educational sites."
