U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Iran, which was invaded by Israel, to reach a nuclear agreement with the United States before the damage becomes even greater.
On June 13 (local time), President Trump wrote on his social networking service, Truth Social, addressing Iran, "There has already been tremendous death and destruction, but there is still time to end this massacre," adding, "The next (Israeli) attacks that are already planned will be even more brutal."
He went on to say, "Iran must make a deal before nothing is left," and added, "You must protect what was once known as the Persian Empire."
President Trump stated that he had previously warned that military action would be taken if Iran failed to reach a nuclear agreement, saying, "The hardliners in Iran had no idea what would happen, and now they are all dead, and things will only get worse from here."
Nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, which have stalled over Iran's uranium enrichment facilities at the core of its nuclear program, were scheduled to resume on June 15 in Muscat, Oman. However, Israel launched an airstrike on Iran in the early hours of this day, just two days before the two countries' nuclear talks.
The Trump administration has been demanding that Iran abandon its domestic uranium enrichment, which serves as the basis for extracting nuclear warhead material, but Iran has refused and is instead vowing to build additional enrichment facilities.
