Daegu Il Meister High School (Daegu Il Meister High School, Principal Kim Kyungil) signed a letter of intent for friendly exchange with Taipei Municipal Da'an Vocational High School and operated an international exchange program over two days, from June 10 to 11.
This exchange followed a visit by a student delegation from Daegu Il Meister High School to Da'an Vocational High School in Taiwan in January and was conducted as a reciprocal exchange. The purpose was to establish a foundation for ongoing cooperation and educational exchange between the two schools.
Teachers and students from Da'an Vocational High School in Taiwan are visiting Daegu and taking a commemorative photo after signing a letter of intent for friendly exchange with Daegu Il Meister High School.
The visiting delegation from Taiwan, consisting of 17 students and 3 staff members (the principal and two teachers), visited Daegu Il Meister High School and participated in various programs, including major-related practical training, Korean cultural experiences, and industrial site visits, thereby laying the groundwork for substantive cooperation between the two schools.
On the first day, June 10, a welcome ceremony and the signing ceremony for the letter of intent for friendly exchange were held in the auditorium of Daegu Il Meister High School. The event included greetings from the principals of both countries, introductions and greetings from student representatives of both schools, a taekwondo demonstration, an exchange of commemorative gifts, and a commemorative photo session.
After the signing ceremony, major-related practical training programs (3D printing, mold making) were conducted with students from Daegu Il Meister High School. In the afternoon, students participated in small-group cultural tours, visiting Daegu Modern Alley and Daegu Yakjeon Alley, where they experienced both traditional and modern aspects of Korean culture.
On the second day, June 11, the group visited the Samsung Electronics Smart Gallery in Gumi and experienced the Geumosan Cable Car, gaining a broad educational experience encompassing industry, nature, and culture.
Through this exchange, both schools confirmed the possibility of expanding regular exchange programs and joint projects. The program also provided students with opportunities to explore career paths and develop multicultural communication skills.
Daegu Il Meister High School plans to continue providing students with meaningful global vocational education opportunities through ongoing exchanges and to further strengthen its status as a leading Meister high school in the region.
