Launch of the 'AX Node' Organization
On June 13, Samil PwC announced that it held a partners' general meeting and promoted 32 new partners, as well as partners who will take on key management roles.
The newly appointed partners include experts in promising industries such as semiconductors and platform industries, actuarial science for insurance, global professionals in areas such as international taxation and overseas listing services, M&A advisory specialists, and professionals in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital services. These individuals are expected to drive business growth.
In addition, to respond swiftly to changes in domestic and global markets, Samil PwC announced the promotion of Gilju Ryu to Client Service Partner, and Youngseok Noh, Bongjun Baek, Kibok Lee, Seunghwan Lee, and Bongjae Jin to Deputy Partners.
Gilju Ryu graduated from Sogang University and joined Samil PwC in 1995, providing M&A advisory services to major conglomerates such as the SK Group. He has served as Head of the Corporate Client Division and Deputy Partner in the Deals division, where he was recognized for his network and client management capabilities. He will now oversee all client-facing activities at Samil, putting the firm's client-centric philosophy into practice.
Youngseok Noh, Deputy Partner, after joining Samil PwC, worked at PwC Japan's Tokyo office for two years starting in 2006. Leveraging this experience, he has served as a tax advisory leader for Japanese clients. Going forward, he plans to expand the scope of services and take the lead in establishing and executing a total service strategy for multinational corporate clients, including those from Japan.
Bongjun Baek, Deputy Partner, has provided audit and consulting services to listed conglomerates in the shipping, aviation, construction, and shipbuilding industries at Samil PwC. Recognized for his extensive network and client-focused service capabilities, he will contribute to the growth of Samil's audit division as the market leader for the audit practice.
Kibok Lee, Deputy Partner, has delivered a variety of services to chemical and secondary battery companies. Notably, he built global expertise by supporting overseas business operations for Korean conglomerates at PwC's New York and Los Angeles offices for seven years. Since 2023, he has also led Samil's organizational culture and HR department, developing talent and change management strategies to address technological advancements such as digital and AI.
Seunghwan Lee, Deputy Partner, has provided audit services for project-based and consumer goods industries. Recently, he has developed various business automation solutions and is recognized as a top expert in digital and AI transformation in corporate finance and accounting. As the leader of the newly established AX Node, he plans to spearhead Samil's innovation-driven growth.
Bongjae Jin, Deputy Partner, is recognized as a leading expert in the insurance industry, having provided external audits, IFRS 17 implementation, and insurance capital regulation consulting for major domestic insurers. He is expected to lead the development of Samil's insurance business services as the insurance industry leader.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Samil PwC also officially announced the launch of the 'AX Node' organization, which will combine digital capabilities and accounting expertise to drive digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX) innovation for client companies. Comprised of accounting and AI experts, AX Node will proactively identify and support areas for innovation within companies by leveraging on-site experience, expertise, and digital technologies such as AI and automation.
