Aiming to Become a Global Platform... Connecting Startup Leaders Worldwide
Targeting Each Region from Asia to Emerging Markets
Key Ecosystem Figures Join the 46-Member Advisory Committee
The Korea Startup Forum, the Korea Venture Business Association, and the Korea Venture Capital Association announced on June 13 that they will jointly host "ComeUp 2025" at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, from December 10 to 12.
The three organizations held a kickoff meeting for the advisory committee at MARU180 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the previous day, officially beginning preparations for ComeUp 2025. During the meeting, they shared last year's achievements and discussed operational plans and program directions for this year's event.
ComeUp 2025 aims to expand its collaborative network with the global startup ecosystem and strengthen strategies to facilitate tangible investment and business partnerships. This year, major ecosystem organizations, including the Korea Venture Business Association, the Korea Startup Forum, and the Korea Venture Capital Association, will jointly organize the event, encouraging participation from a wide range of ventures and startups and enhancing its global impact.
This year's event aspires to become a "Global Nexus" platform. It will go beyond simple exhibitions and pitching sessions to serve as a platform that connects diverse players in the global startup ecosystem.
In particular, the global linkage strategy will be strengthened by setting specific targets for each country and region. The event will cover major regions such as Asia, North America, and Europe, as well as emerging markets including Africa, India, and South America, pursuing detailed strategies that reflect the characteristics of startups and investment demands in each area. The range of invitees will also expand beyond startups and investors to include governments from various countries, related support organizations, global corporations, and large and mid-sized venture companies.
The ComeUp 2025 Advisory Committee consists of a total of 46 members, chaired by Han Sangwoo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum. The advisory committee members, including heads of startup and venture associations, representatives from global and large corporations, and startup CEOs, are divided into subcommittees by area of expertise: conference, startup, investment, open innovation (OI), and public relations.
This year, key figures in the ecosystem such as Ryu Joonghee, CEO of RLWRLD; Sohn Jaekwon, CEO of The Miilk; Lee Hanbin, CEO of Seoul Robotics; Cho Minsik, Chairman of the Korea Angel Investment Association; Kim Kyunghoon, President of Google Korea; Jung Namyi, Executive Director of the Asan Nanum Foundation; Jung Geunho, CEO of Stick Ventures; Lee Jonghoon, CEO of Explo Investment; Jung Sangmin, Executive Director at Coupang; and Jeon Pilkyu, Head of the Creative Development Center at Samsung Electronics, will participate to provide advice for the successful execution of the event.
Han Sangwoo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, stated, "Entrepreneurship and innovation are the answers to strengthening the growth and competitiveness of Korea's entire industry," and added, "ComeUp will establish itself as a global platform that not only serves as a startup event but also highlights the importance of revitalizing the startup ecosystem and the value of innovation to the world."
