On June 13, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency announced that it had held the "2025 Global Startup Academy Local Expansion Program (G-Camp)" in Silicon Valley, United States, to support promising startups in entering overseas markets.

G-Camp is a core local expansion support program for startups enrolled in the Global Startup Academy. This year, the competition rate for admission to the Global Startup Academy reached 10 to 1, demonstrating the high demand among domestic startups for global expansion.

This North American G-Camp, which was attended by 35 companies enrolled in the Global Startup Academy, was organized in collaboration with the world-renowned accelerator Plug and Play Tech Center. The program aims to lay the groundwork for entry into the North American market through networking with local investors and buyers, product pitching, and market fit assessments. Participating companies are given a practical opportunity to showcase their products and services and receive feedback from investors and others at a large-scale global open innovation event hosted by Plug and Play.

This year's Global Startup Academy G-Camp will begin in North America and will sequentially be held in Asian regions such as Singapore and Vietnam in July. Im Jihyun, head of the Youth Startup Academy at the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, stated, "This G-Camp was designed to provide domestic startups with an opportunity to access the North American market and global networks in a short period of time," adding, "We will continue to actively support the successful overseas expansion of promising domestic startups through the Global Startup Academy."
